EXISTING CLIENT FAQ
It is true that mouth wash can cause a fail as most mouth washes are 26% alcohol and we recommend using Alcohol Fee mouth wash.
If you are eating while driving make sure you RINSE your mouth with water BEFORE each blow this will help eliminate mouth contaminants that can cause violations and unwanted reset fee’s.
If you are using an excessive amount of windshield washer fluid open up your windows and air your car out to avoid a violation. Excessive use of windshield washer fluid has caused MANY failures which result in unwanted reset fee’s.

Listed below are SOME of the food and/or drinks that have contributed to a fail:
Any juice that ferments
Any fruit that ferments
Some flavored coffee’s
1. JUST BLEW A START UP FAIL
a. Lockout is temporary (up to 10 minutes)
b. If you drank the night before it is recommended that you wait a few hours before blowing in to it again. Massachusetts device are set to fail to BrAC reading .021 or higher and Rhode Island Device are set to fail to BrAC reading higher than .025
c. If you did NOT drink at all then rinse you mouth with water when the device calls for another blow, blow into it this will prove your innocents.
i. Once you blow the SECOND BrAC fail at start up you will need to go in for a reset. You have 48 HOURS from the time the second fail occurred.
2. JUST BLEW A ROLLING RETEST FAIL
a. If you have not had any Alcohol then rinse your mouth with water, when device calls for a blow and blow into the device.
i. Massachuettes clients: If you fail a rolling retest you have 48 HOURS to bring your vehicle in for a reset.
ii. Rhode Island Clients: Once you blow the SECOND rolling retest in a monitoring period you have 48 HOURS to bring you vehicle in for a reset
